Forcing 4G on stock ICS

I have a stock rezound w/ICS 4.0.3, not rooted. My carrier is Verizon. I am looking for a way to force the phone into 4G mode and prevent it from jumping to a 3G tower.

Here's why:
I work at a firestation for 24/48hrs. I want to stream Netflix from my device to the television at my station, and it streams like crap over 3G. My station is located on the border of 4G/3G service area. I will occasionally get 3/4 bars of 4G, specifically when I reboot the phone or when I've come to the station from the direction of a 4G area. Eventually, though, 4G will be dropped in favor of 3G. During the brief times when I'm connected to 4G my data speeds are easily sufficient to do the type of streaming I'm trying to do. It just won't stay connected! If my understanding is correct, my device will frequently switch between multiple available towers based on signal strength alone. Meaning even though I might get enough 4G service at my location to stream Netflix, if my device detects a better signal from a closer 3G tower I will get bumped to that tower automatically. Is there any way to override this and force the phone to hold 4G signal when it's available?

I am a long time reader of this forum, but this is my first post. Thank you in advance for your advice!

I'm not sure if you can do this or not as you're stock.. But anyways if you go to Settings > Wireless and Networks (More) > Radio info and go to Set preferred network type, you can select LTE Only.

Looks like "LTE Only" is only available in the Global Mode leak ROM, it is not in the stock OTA (3.14.605.12) ROM. In pure stock, you have to let it be in 3G/4G or just 3G mode.

Yes there is a way! Download lte off on from the app store...it's a silver box with red lightning bolt icon I believe...then in the app switch to lte only...I just tried it...it works. I have the same problem at my house...

djaquez21, those menu's are not available on stock ICS. Lefank, thank you, I have downloaded the app and I will try it out when I'm at the station tomorrow and let you know how it works.

Just used LTE on off and it worked. Checked my signal strength through the settings menu. Everything us stuck on 0. Any idea why?

Is the LTE on Off app the Thunderbolt LTE on off app? it is the only only I saw on the play store.

Update - It worked great! I am super pumped! Now if I could only figure out a way to get the NFL Network app to work when I plug my MHL cable in, but that's an issue for another thread!

If you are forcing the phone into LTE mode (or 3G or whatever) in a location where LTE (or whatever mode you're forcing) is not available, I would assume that you wouldn't be able connect to anything and would therefore have all 0's.
