Stock Android is a good thing. Google software integration is a great thing. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts and impressions after you've had it for a while. From what I've heard the battery in the pixel 5a is a beast and of course the camera is going to be the best you can get in an Android phone.I got mine this morning. It's my first Pixel. A strange new world. Stock android. New navigation gestures. Gboard is way different than samsung. The phone is smaller than my S21ultra, which is a welcome thing.
I will be putting Nova Prime on my 5a. Not so much because of the Google search bar (which is annoying) but mainly because the stock Pixel launcher reserves the swipe right from the home screen for Google News.Same here! June 5th and no way to update! This is NOT acceptable to me since one of my reasons for getting a Pixel was to get the latest updates as soon as they're available! Also, I had to install Nova Prime (again) because I did not realize that you cannot remove the stupid search bar when using the Pixel Launcher??? WHAT??? Not sure yet but this puppy may be going back. So disgusted with all OEM's lately! Giving it another day or two but right now my OnePlus 8T is far better!
You might want to take a look at this article, just came out today, which pits the Samsung S21 vs. the Pixel 5a. I understand the S21 isn't exactly an S20 FE, but I still think the article is useful to you.Anybody here come from the Samsung Galaxy s20 Fe I am ready to transition to a pixel device and Google's offering $300 for my Samsung so I'd be walking out the door with a 5A 5G for $150 and it is extremely tempting but it's hard to tell if it's an upgrade or downgrade as I understand it's extremely subjective but would love to hear your guyses thoughts
1. When you get your new Pixel 5a take it to your phone carrier's store along with your S20 and have them do the transfer for free. Also coming from a Samsung Galaxy s20fe with a MicroSD card slot how do I transfer my music from the micro SD card to the storage of the new pixel?
Awesome thank you!1. When you get your new Pixel 5a take it to your phone carrier's store along with your S20 and have them do the transfer for free.
Or
2. You will use your PC as holding device. Connect your S20 to your PC using USB cable. Copy and paste your music from your S20 to your PC. When you get your 5a, plug it into your PC with USB cable. Copy and paste your music from the PC to the Music folder on your 5a.
(You can copy and paste the entre Music folder from your S20 to your PC but when you go to transfer the music to the 5a, copy and paste only the music files inside the Music folder, and not the whole folder or you will have a Music folder nested within a Music folder on your 5a.)
