hello,
got a galaxy s5 active unlocked , brand new. it displays at&t logo at power up.
i'm using it with bell, here in canada.
cannot setup wording incoming calls to my home phone.
i get a message Network not detected / sim card error.
the card WORKS OK, as i can place calls from my cell, both in this and in my previous phone (it was a galaxy s2). the sim card IS A BELL one.
browsing the web, i found this to be appear as a common problem, which seems to be pointing to a BUG IN THE ANDROID OS.
could someone PLEASE help?
thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to Android Central 280daniel240!

You have the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active on model SM-G870A, which is designed specifically for AT&T and is the only firmware for the S5 Active and as such, expects to only run with an AT&T sim card on the AT&T network as it is customised as such and not an Android bug. Whilst it will function on other GSM networks, such as Bell, these messages that you are experiencing are not uncommon.

thanks for your reply.
is then CORRECT my understanding that i must ABANDON the idea (or hope) of ever
be able to forward incoming cables with this phone?

Call forwarding is handled by your carrier, so it would pay to have a word with them about it on your Active. They may have had this issue before.
