Im starting to wonder if i should just take this back...I nocticed when its booting up the screen like flashes like glitches when the asus screen is up. not sure if this an issue with the software or not. 2nd thing is the 30 pin connector, pulled it out of my dock and the whole thing pulled apart, like the inside of the connector came out of the casing. i did notice some light bleeding through in the left side also when its booting up, its not too bad.

wow I'd definitely take it back just because of the defective connector... this is not good.... were you able to put it back though? also when you charge it with the cable does it come out too? its loose right? I'm worried cos im getting my tablet on the 3rd and already seeing in forums people report issues...

there is no need to send it to asus. he still got a few days to return it to the store. XzombieX66 where did you buy it from? ask for exchange.
edit:
yes take it back to bestbuy for exchange.

No way should you send it back - return it and get a fresh, brand new one.

You just paid a lot of money - no reason why you should get a refurbished unit while people still waiting are going to get brand new ones.

If I got a dud, it would go back to the store I purchased it - ASAP.

What is up with this company? This is exactly like the first Transformer - dejavu all over again! I was so close to getting it - even had the dock before I had the tablet part - and ultimately decided against it and sold my dock to somebody here on the AC forums that lived nearby. I understand this is the only thread with more serious hardware issues instead of software, but even so...this whole launch is the biggest dose of dejavu if I've ever seen one. Between this serious hardware issue and the wifi weakness (I kind of need strong wifi, sorry), I'm wondering if I should just cancel and put this money towards something else. This is a LOT of money for me, I'm not rich and I'm in college. The only way I was even able to pay for it is from selling other items.

I am thinking the same this is alot of money but all the key features are what i want.. let a couple more people recieve it see what they say and let asus fix things get a good warrenty on it. All launch items have problems look at the 360 read ring of death.. i never had a problem chances are u wont either

Return it and send me your dock :-P
The only problem I see with returning is they probably don't have extras to give you a replacement

well not to sound discouraging guys but I've never had any positive experience with Asus. My 3 brand new netbooks 3 years ago all had the same problem -microphone wasnt working out of the box so I ended up returning all of them. Then this year I purchased OG Transformer when it just came out and it had serious issues with display touch responsiveness not being able to register the touch so I returned that back to bestbuy too. So yes they definitely DO have have a problem with hardware in their devices.... So I can say I've never own any Asus product for longer than a few days.. I'm hoping perhaps this time i'll get lucky.. simply because there is no other tegra 3 tablet yet.. if not... oh well.. I wont ever buy any Asus product in ny life. Good thing bestbuy has excellent return policy...

Yeah, my older brother was telling me the same thing - he owned an ASUS laptop several years back and hated it. So between that and the terrible experiences most people had with the original transformer tablet, and now hearing some of the same issues...I'm not feeling too confident about my purchase anymore. :-\
I am one of the ones waiting until end of Jan to beg of Feb from Amazon - just hoping Amazon will let me return if I need to, too.

I really want this for note-taking in class and browsing the web, in addition to having the android market and all at my hands. I want the gaming, too, but that's last on my priorities. I really need the wifi to be strong. :-\

edited to add: I know, I know, for my priorities I should just get the OG transformer, that is, if those issues were even fixed...but I love the look of the Prime!

Just to lighten the mood - I LOVE my Prime so far!!! Don't see any problems with it so far that I'm concerned about.

That weird browser issue (http://forums.androidcentral.com/as...9-browser-issues-general-performance-lag.html) is the only thing I've experienced that's been odd. I had some apps be weird about logging me in for a couple hours but they've been fine ever since they finally started working. Build quality wise, this thing is amazing.

After having an iPad 1, this thing is so thin and light I feel like I have to baby it :-p , but it sure is built well.

How's your wifi signal doing? Can you try taking it further and further away from the router and see how it does? What's your current setup like - as in - are you close to your router?

I will say the build quality is good. after using it for a few days i havent had an issue with losing connection on wireless. my router is in my basement and i get between 2-bars on my third floor.

I posted in your other thread as well, but mine does the same when booting up, so I am going to assume that is intentional, kind of like the Battlefield 3 thing. I also had the same thing with the connector, but I just put a little more pressure with my thumb when pulling it out and haven't had an issue since. While I agree taking it back would be the #1 option, I don't think I am going to do it. I was lucky enough to get this before everyone else, I don't want to take it back and have to wait another 2-3 weeks to get a replacement. Unless I would get a bump in line for a new replacement since I already have mine in hand, or am I really reaching with that?

Otherwise, I freaking love this thing. Some lag as others have reported, but honestly, its not a deal breaker to me, even after dropping $550. And I am sure once ICS is on it, a lot of those minor issues will go away with it. Honestly the only thing bothering me right now is I don't have a case for it. I bought the $40 ASUS case, but cancelled it as it seemed a little overpriced for something that doesn't also cover the back.

Let me know what case you end up getting...I can't figure out a good choice either.

Yeah I really like mine as well, the dock makes this thing so much better its insane. I with you about a case though. Wish I could find one that like came off on the bottom so it fit the dock.

Where have you guys purchased your accessories? I am looking for a dock and case but haven't seen them advertised

I got my case on Amazon.

Here's what i noticed on my WiFi. My router is downstairs. Of course, I have full bars. I go upstairs to my bedroom and I go from full bars to 2. I ran a speed test and I am still getting a good throughput, but it appears that i cant go very far from a WiFi spot. Is this the case with everyone else? Or is mine not the norm?
