Edited: Having issues making it work... Looks like it will need to be updated to make it work again...

will not work. i get the message saying it can't connect to verizon's servers. hope it's a simple fix for foxfi developers and not a kit kat software block.

This is the fact every time. They always have to update.

Has anyone tried to revert their Maxx back to a previous verision?

It's only possible with a developer edition with an unlocked bootloader. With the standard version with stock, locked bootloader, it will not allow you to downgrade any of the protected partitions.

When do we expect FoxFi to make an update so we can start using our Hot Spot again? Also, Does anyone know of a trick to make the Hotspot start working again?

On Kit Kat there is no way to make the hotspot work at the moment unless you go through Verizon. FoxFi may never work using WiFi on Kit Kat. Depends if they can figure out a work around

Will they work to figure a way around it?

I'm sure they're trying, but doesn't mean they'll succeed. From root, to other apps that accessed system data (GSAM, wakelock detector, etc.) it seems that Google locked a lot of things down in Kit Kat.

I tried Foxfi Bluetooth before upgrading and it worked fine. Downloaded 4.4. Foxfi Bluetooth still working. Maybe a bit slower, but very acceptable to me.

FoxFi tethering is still working for me, but every time I re-boot my phone I get a message from the phone saying that FoxFi is accessing all my data and browsing history. I was never a fan of the credentials FoxFi put on the phone, but I dealt with it for the WiFi. Are there any other tethering apps out there that are less intrusive?

To be clear, you mean usb tethering? Or are you still on 4.2.2?

Factory reset didn't work for me. Guess I just gotta hang in there and pay vzw $30 hotspot fee until foxfi comes up with a fix for kitkat

I thought Verizon was legally required to allow 3rd party hotspot if you're on a tiered data plan. Does that not apply anymore? My foxfi isn't working anymore since KK update

There are some tiered plans that don't have hotspot access, but if yours does, then the stock hotspot app will work. You don't need FoxFi.

Verizon is not blocking FoxFi - it's just not working on KitKat. See FoxFi Devices
