FoxFi with Nexus 7 Data Disconnects

Hello,

I am trying to use FoxFi with my Nexus 7 tablet. I have a Photon 4G that I am running it on. I just did a factory reset on my Photon and my tablet is brand new. I can connect for only a few minutes and my Nexus 7 will drop connection but FoxFi shows that it is still turned on, just does not show it is connected anymore. I've made sure that any timeouts have been disabled, I have no app killer on my tablet or phone. Everything is up to date. Bluetooth DUN connection works fine when using PDANet, Open Garden, and FoxFi but I can't get a lot of the google applications to work when using that method.

FoxFi shows up on my tablet fine, connects fine but after 30 seconds to a minute it will disconnect and then maybe 5 minutes later it will reconnect only to drop the connection another 30 seconds later. I also did a factory reset on my tablet. Both are back to factory settings and they are still having the same problem.

I saw there was another problem along these lines and they said that the problem was an app killer. I don't have any of those installed.

Anyone have any other ideas? I am fresh out of them.

Regards,

I have a similar problem. Using a Droid X and a Nexus 7. I've seen similar stories at other forums, but no one so far seems to have a solution.

Here's what I have to do to get Foxfi to work:
reboot phone
start foxfi
rename the connection
start the hotspot
turn on the N7
look on the list for the hotspot and connect

Usually it will work...for an hour, or maybe an hour and a half. Sometimes less. Then it will suddenly stop connecting. Sometimes the little blue data loading icon will turn gray, but not always. Sometimes, I only notice there's a problem when I try to open a new webpage and it just spins and spins, or tells me the internet isn't available.

Then I have to go through the whole process again. Just turning off Foxfi and turning it back on again doesn't do any good, and sometimes Foxfi is totally unresponsive and I have to do a force stop or (what I usually do) turn the phone off and back on again, and go through the whole process again...

I love Foxfi and don't want to whine about a free app, but I would pay to have something that worked consistently. I have the paid version of Pdanet and use it to tether my laptop with a usb cable with no problems. If there was a way to tether the N7 with a cable I would do that.

I've tried bluetooth and it doesn't work on all websites, mostly the Google ones, which pretty much renders the N7 useless except as a Facebook checking machine. :p At least as far as the internet goes.

If anyone has any suggestions to make Foxfi work consistently without dropping the connection, I would be glad to hear it. Thanks - Elizabeth:)
