This man involvement with the OnePlus project was one of the biggest influence in me buying their phone. With his leaving and his insight on OnePlus management, it gives me a bit less confidence in their next phone.

I read that post on the day it came out (I'm on G+ as much as a 16 year old girl is on Facebook). Nothing surprising to me. He was a contract employee and there were issues with his visa and fiance. Koush left Google, it hasn't went to hell. Motorola lost Punit, One person doesn't make a company and CM existed well before him. When s product is a success the company will know what it did right and more importantly what it didn't. Doesn't change my thoughts. And he worked for CM, not OnePlus.

CM is a small company so I guess I know what you mean but I think in the big picture it won't matter. Plus he could always return. He was a one year contract employee, happens all the time.
