Free SMS app for Galaxy S3?

Im using Handcent on my S3 with no issues. GO SMS Pro is another popular free SMS app.

GO SMS Pro offers so many personalized options, etc, but is very easy to set up and use. Plus , you can use GO Chat for free messaging. I strongly suggest giving it a try.

I am using Handcent and have a question. I do not see the Mic button on the keyboard. It is enabled in settings. How do i access it?

Hold the gear button that you press for keyboard settings (in between the spacebar and 123 sym button) glide your finger over to the Mic. and voila

Yeah, some of my contacts are missing pictures. And I can't figure out how to put my own picture on there. Didn't happen with my GS2.

Handcent is definately the best one out there.

Go SMS is full of bloat and won't display incoming text on the lock screen like Handcent does. I don't want to have to unlock the phone just too see my texts.

With Handcent, New texts light up the screen and display on the lock screen where I can read and reply without even unlocking the phone.

I've been submitting reports to the devs of Go SMS for almost a year that they need to impliment that feature, but they ignore the suggestion.

Also with go products they like to push spam to your notification bar.

For those of you that Handcent is working perfectly on their S3, have you had any issues sending MMS over wifi using Handcent? If so how did you resolve?

Never had a problem over WiFi but Ive had problems over send them through the network. The last update said it fixed this issue specifically. Other then the occasional not sending a message i love this App. Great options all the way around.

You can get your contact pictures by going to Handcent/Settings/Application settings and click on "Show image". That works.
