Free themes are going away?

I just had to laugh at the Android OS 9.0 (POS). But yeah, this is sad. Although not sure if this would be applicable world wide? Seems the theme store is region dependent though.

Since the Oreo update, I've been thrilled with the S8. If you're into theming and constantly changing your look, it's a dream. This news would push me away from Samsung.

Done? With what? Samsung, because you can't get something free? Maybe I don't understand the "potential ramifications" of what this means but I just make my own themes. .. and I use Nove so I'm not sure if this matters to me or not... I'm certainly not "done" with anything except expecting free stuff..

Nova has nothing to do with themes since the themes change stuff that Nova can't (like making the menus and the notification shade black or whatever theme you want, as well as all Samsung apps).

But for me, the only themes I get are the free black themes which will not be needed with the upcoming systemwide night mode.

It says at the bottom of the announcement that the team is doing this to encourage users to try new themes. I guess we'll see.

And I've paid for themes. My favorites happen to be free.
