Freeze with rooted 2.2?

First, let me say I have no reason to believe this is specific to a rooted 2.2 setup, but that is where I have seen it twice now (in the 2 weeks or so since I rooted.) Both times I was running the navigation app, when it would complain that it had lost the data connection (running on 3G.) This in an area where I found that hard to believe. Power off the phone and restart it. Gets to the gray screen and... nothing. The first time I left it for 1/2 hour or so and it never came back. The second time I did a battery pull right away, since I needed the navigator app. In both cases, everything came right back up. Any ideas?

I haven't had that problem. What ROM are you running? Maybe you could try CM6.01 or Sky Raider and see if the problem goes away.

skyraider 2.5.2 with the radio update from the leaked OTA.

Have you tried RC3 yet? You might want to give it a try I've been using for a day+ and like it. There is a thread here discussing it.

Hmmm, I might give that a try. OTOH, the OTA updated the radio to 2.15, whereas I have the leaked update to 2.05. I found on the xda site how to flash just the radio. I think I'll try that when I get home and see how it goes.
