freezing screen and reboots should i return

I have had my phone since launch today the screen froze and i had to do a battery pull to get phone to work. Also since launch i have had three reboots. I have had no other problems should i return my phone for a new one or is this somewhat normal. Thanks in advance.

My screen froze up on me about five minutes ago for the second time. It has rebooted 3 or 4 times now. I've never had to pull the battery. Like just now i left it alone for a lil bit and it snapped out of it. It locked soon as i put it on the charger. Couldn't even shut it off. I guess its common since i have the same issue. No biggie doesn't happen all the time. I wont run to send it back.

I just posted in the other thread about lock ups that mine started doing this yesterday as well. It just seems odd to me that so many of us just started having troubles as the same time.

Same here as well, I have had to do 2 battery pulls and my screen froze on me twice while trying to do a voice search. I NEVER had my screen freeze or had to do a battery pull with the Evo...

Factory reset and start over and you'll probably be fine. **** happens as you setup the phone, download apps, etc etc. Should never have to do a battery pull, these aren't blackberries.

There was no other way to get it unlocked. It was frozen up big time.

Was trying to record a video today outside not even in 720p just in VGA mode so I could send it out in an MMS and the thing froze on me multiple times... When I tried re-opening the video camera it kept saying sorry try again later... Its becoming annoying now...Incredible and Evo NEVER froze on me. I'm starting to wonder if this is a moto blur problem??

My X has yet to freeze on me so this is not normal. Are you using a task killer? If so get rid of it. Look at all your running tasks and try to identify any that you loaded yourself. Temporarily remove any that you find. If you can't trace the problem back to an app then a factory reset is your best bet. If after a factory reset the phone misbehaves requiring a battery pull, have it replaced.

Mine has done this twice in the last 24 hours. Just did a factory reset and will see how that goes. If anything, its improved my battery life already.

I have done a factory reset and so far so good. However I have only loaded a few apps back on to see if maybe it was an app causing the problem. I am going to load them bck on one at a time to see what happens. However since i reset it not all of myapps are showing under downloads in the market. If this keeps up i will be calling my local store to see if they have the X in stock.

Sometimes that happens, not all the apps show up in the downloads. That happened with my Droid as well and has nothing to with the phone itself. Unfortunately, you'll have to try to remember the ones you had and re-download them again. Your approach to put them back one by one is a great idea and will help you to troubleshoot the issue. Hopefully you'll have no other problems.

The weird part is when i did a factory reset a couple days ago, they were there but this time they weren't. I don't know how it could be the phone but it is an odd coincidence.

It sounds like it is bothering you quite a bit................If I were you I would return it ,call Verizon CS,talk to tech,they will tell you to do a Factory reset. It will do it again,its just something you have to be able to live with.

My phone started acting up today also my gmail said no connection even though i had one and then the screen went black and froze i thought it was dead got an error that said could not load system force close then booted back and so far so good the phone has started to get more buggy.before this it has been great
