Android Central Question

Verizon Wireless is our carrier. My wife's Galaxy S7 has recently began sounding this alert at frequencies of 5 minutes up to an hour or more. This happens in any weather and on routes that we travel regularly, and where my Galaxy S5 does not lose the signal. (On regular routes we keep Google Maps on to alert us to traffic, accident and construction delays, which are frequent in our area, and for suggested detours.) There isn't any evidence that the signal is actually lost, at least not more than momentarily. Any suggestions?

GPS Status & Toolbox - at least you'll be able to see which satellites you're locked on. If she really is losing connection, the phone probably has to be replaced (it would cost the same to replace the motherboard as it would for a gently-used S7 - maybe even more). If She's just getting the beep but is still receiving the satellites, reflashing the ROM may fix it. (You'll have to fully back up the phone first - Smart Switch or see Backing up an Android Device - because the ROM is stock, it doesn't have anything that she's done to it since it came out of the box.)
