What are the options at this point with no insurance? Anyone know how much it would cost to have Sprint fix it?

It would be more cheaper to buy a new Nexus S at full price then fix her phone.. She's pretty f***'ed since there is no insurance..

It's only $35 to have sprint fix it with no insurance. Sprint repair stores have been dealing with physical problems (cracked screens, etc.) for awhile now. I think losing the phone or water damage are the only things you need to pay a deductible anymore if you have the insurance.

If that doesn't work, you can add insurance within 30 days of purchase. Just call sprint and add it over the phone vs. in store

Thats incorrect.

If the screen is cracked without insurance you are SOL. If the crack is bigger than an inch the repair centers wont be able to do anything unless you get a really nice rep/tech. And since they are advising the techs against taking the Nexus apart...your friend really doesnt have many options. Not having the insurance isnt a smart option. If she is still within her 30 days...I'd tell her to call into care and have them add it on. Then wait a week or so and file a claim and pay the $100 deductable.

This is spoken from a rep who works for Sprint at a repair center with techs. A corporate store...not a 3rd party....

I acknowledge that all stores are different....even corporate stores and you may be able to find a store that will fix it. But I wouldnt be upset if you cant as the chances are slim.
