Hey guys,

One of my best friends is giving me his old LG G3, and it comes rooted with Cyanogenmod. It was also previously Verizon but unlocked, as I have AT&T. I'm absolutely thrilled to finally have an Android, but I was wondering what should I expect from an unlocked phone (I never had one before so I'm not quite sure how it works to be honest) as well as a rooted device. If I so wished, could I go back to stock? I planned on rooting anyways to learn more about the Android OS in depth as well as their phones. I'm absolutely not complaining, but I am curious about functionality at the most.

Also, how would the battery life be in comparison to stock ROM?

Sorry if this isn't the right thread to post this type of stuff in.

Thanks!

Expect the unexpected. It just means you have more options to tweak the device to your personal taste. It also means that some of the security measures are not in place, so you are more open to malware. CM is a fairly stable OS, they have a good support site and update lots... Have fun

What would be the best way to keep my information and my phone as secure as possible via rooting?

The usual rules still apply.. Don't open attachments from unknown senders, don't click on unknown links, don't auto open mms content... Be careful about Web sites you visit... Don't touch popups
