Hello all!

Experienced Galaxy Nexus (root/ROM) user here, but I need some help on my friend'd Optimus that is apparently doing the following:

"I get the white LG splash screen, then the Sprint logo screen with the welcome chime, then it’s the semi-animated blue Android logo boot screen that resets and starts again every 20 seconds or so."

His phone is not rooted/completely stock..

Never using this phone, seeing the ROM manager difficulties and such - does anyone have any idea what's up with his phone?
I am going to get my hands on it this PM, so any advice or help would be great! Thanks

W

Pull the battery to see if that fixes it. Or maybe go into recovery and factory reset the phone.

Sent from my PG86100

To get to recovery press power+volume down+home at the same time and that should put you into recovery, you may have to wipe data/factory reset. good luck!

Hopefully a battery pull will work.

sent from my CM7/Reborn w/ 1 Gb internal storage Optimus S

Always happy to help, hit that thanks button if I did

If his phone is not rooted how did the blue android get there after the sprint splash? A stock boot screen us just the white LG splash and then the sprint splash with chime.

I couldn't tell you? Hm, but I'll find out soon enough! Doesn't even have a laptop TO root lol..

Battery pull didn't work..

Are you sure it's an Optimus S? What does it say in the 'About Phone' section under 'Model number?'

Also, there are several tools where you don't need a computer in order to root a device; Gingerbreak was made into an apk and I have used z4root on another in the Optimus line.

Try flashing Xionia on his phone...

Just hook up his phone to the computer... use ADB to flash the image that I attached below...

It won't boot remember!

Should be here soon, isn't the S for Sprint? His is an original on Sprint..

What's it look like?.. Look in the back. Remove the battery and tell us what the Phone model is.

I have a feeling he did a factory reset, from stock, and the phone possibly had no recovery image?

All is good, he kept pulling the battery before the factory image was built/dalvik built :)
Thanks guys!
Now we're going to root and flash something better than the crap factory ROM, he's ZVH based..
Any rec. ROMS with better stability/speed?

Thanks man! Flashing it now.. Next best for bloat removed/stability?
I can tell your the unofficial Optimus support dev lol.. hat tipped

Most of the ROMs here have the bloat removed and are pretty solid. But if it's stability you want, then a ZVD ROM, such as Reborn ROM, sROM or thekraven's CM7. Of course, you would need to revert your radio.

Haha. Just happy to help. :)
