I've been switching back and forth between the Turbo 2 and the LG G4. Both are great phones. Each has their strengths and weaknesses, but you really can't go wrong either way.

How do you compare the Turbo to the G4? What do you see as the plusses and minuses of each one?

The Turbo wins the battery battle hands down. I got a day (24 hours) of total battery and 8+ hours of SoT on average per charge.

I also miss the Motorola touches, it's own software additions. Moto Display in particular. I haven't used any of the G4 specific features and apps.

While I haven't had any issues with durability myself, I'm guessing the Turbo may be more durable than the G4.

I left the Turbo for the G4's camera. I have not been disappointed. The G4 camera is simply fantastic.

I like the ability to swap out the backs, a fresh battery, and use external storage (although with the 64 GB Turbo I had gotten used to not having an SD card available).

While the G4's battery can't compete with the Turbo's, and while I have my complaints about battery life over time, the G4 has held its own in this regard.

I used Nova Prime as my launcher on both, so their respective OS overlays don't matter much.

I was actually using a Mugen 6200 mAh extended battery with my G4. It made the battery life ABSURD - 11+ hours of SOT over 2-3 days. You'd think that would make the G4 the perfect phone, right?

A few problems. First, the extended battery added a lot of weight. That, in and of itself, wouldn't be a big deal, but the weight was disproportionately at the bottom of the phone and messed up the balance.

Second, the back door for the G4 extended battery is very plastic and slippery. Took away any feeling of the phone being premium and was a fingerprint magnet.

Third and most importantly, the LG G4 touch screen gives me all kinds of issues. Sometimes it acts too sensitive and registers scrolling as a tap. Other times, my taps don't register at all and I have to hit something twice before it registers.

Don't get me wrong, I actually like the G4 a lot, but the Turbo 2 (and the Turbo before it) seem to have far fewer glitches.

Does the Turbo 2 get hot like the G4 does since it uses a 8 core Snapdragon 810 which LG decided not to use on the G4 and went with a 6 core Snapdragon 808 instead.

I actually find that the Turbo 2 gets hotter than the LG G4. However, I don't think either one gets too hot. They are both well within the range of normal. In terms of heat, I find that the LG G4 runs very cool compared to other phones.

The G4 (Verizon Wireless vs986) before I used the CTT Mod v2.1 from xda would actually get as hot as 105C so hopefully the Turbo 2 is not as hot as that. Since the Turbo 2 uses the Snapdragon 810, does it have the throttle enabled. On the G4, the charger will rapid charge but once it reaches a certain temperature, it will charge very slow when the phone is in use or the screen is on, does the Turbo 2 have the same problem? My Motorola Droid RAZR HD Maxx ever since upgrading to Kitkat 4.4.2 has been getting very hot that caused the battery to swollen every 5 months knocking out the backside which requires a new replacement from VZW.
