froyo and rooting questions for EVO

Considering sprints bs charge for wifi tethering on the evo does anyone know if the tethering included in froyo will be free or will sprint force their customers to pay the fee for this also? also what are the cons of rooting an evo? thanks

They will find a way to charge for the hotspot functionality. More than likely have it disabled.
