froyo browser always loads last page viewed

Has anyone noticed that the browser with froyo always loads the last page viewed? Even after I force stop the browser and then wipe the history it stills goes to last page viewed instead of the set homepage. This annoys me for multiple reasons.

I noticed that too.. but i thought it was simply somthing with my task killer not closing my brower and just resuming where i was last?

yeah, there used to be an option to choose what page to load on a fresh launch.

Yeah, check out all your windows. I can finally have like 10 windows open.
I closed all and then restarted browser... and my homepage (google.com) showed up.

well, i hope it wasn't by design. i hate having to sign out of websites.

Put a lock on your phone and you wouldnt need to sign out of websites.

Unless you are afraid your GF/Wife will find you logged into youporn =)

Is there an option in the new browser to "EXIT"? That was a beef of mine.

Any word on a way around this? Starting to annoy me now (not enough to revert to Eclair though)

I also found that when using the 'Backgrounds' app, even if you kill it with 1+ Task Managers, it always reverts to the last page you were viewing when re-launched. Could it be a compatibility issue with Task Managers? (I use Advanced Task Killer free, HTC Desire)

guys 2.1 did the same exact thing. nothing has changed with the browser, it ALWAYS has kept the last page when you re-opened it. load up 2.1 and try it out.

froyo also brought web browser cache now, so it stores the last page in memory so it doesnt refresh when you re-open the browser. but this makes the browser sometimes take up some storage space. FYI just kill the browser if you ever notice it using up too much storage.
