froyo downgrade people that have done it

has anyone done the froyo downgrade if so have your issues been solved what are the downside of the downgrade if any im havin the phone shut off randomly and my touch screen seems to be not so responsive with the gb update and im thinking of doin the down grade

It works fine, whatever your experience with ZVD was, it'll return to the same experience. You'll probably need to do "wipe data/factory reset", especially if the boot gets stuck at the Android logo, so backup your data first.

You need to be rooted and have a custom recovery installed.

i did the froyo downgrade to root flashed new rom love it yeah you need custom recovery to back up your stock rom then you can pretty much flash flash flash away as long as you keep that memory card with your backup you can always go back to stock

I grabbed the official Sprint download for Froyo, no issues with the phone...the only prob I'm finding is my apps are missing that were stored on the SD. Short of that, no issues....Back to the way it should have been.

I'm happy and back the way it should have been, recovered what I could, lost what I couldn't but I figured that without going crazy with rooting, just to go back

try these drivers

Optimus S drivers.exe

after installing the drivers, then plug your phone in using the usb cord, make sure usb debugging is turned on your phone

but all your really need to do in order to downgrade back to VD is download http://www6.sprint.com/downloads/android/executables/update.zip and flash it in your stock recovery, otherwise just put the stock recovery back on then flash that file

i was able to get a replacement phone from sprint i payed the 50 bucks it came with froyo and it was brand new no bugs and it never seen gb so hopefully they fix gb

I ended up going to my local store. They were able to revert both of our phones so we're ok for now. Still doesn't explain why we're get a bad update and when the corrected update is coming out.

yea ive heard so many rumors thats its comin in a few weeks a month and some are saying that it will never come on a fixed version for our phones i dont know why they would push an update thats all bugged then pull it off the market cause its bugged its like there toying with us i dont see why they cant fix it i mean if the devs here at android central can make awesomes roms that work great on our phones why cant sprint fix it i think they i mean sprint should hire these guys here to fix it
