Ever since updating to Froyo, I have been experiencing an intermittent bug. The Android System usage skyrockets and the battery drains very quickly. A restart fixes this problem for several days, and then it returns. The bottom of the phone also gets pretty warm.

Anyone else have this experience? I would love to know what is causing it.

i wish we were given more info of what exactly is going on in Android System. the best bet is install system panel and look for the app using the most CPU, you'll find it there for sure.

Are you using System Panel with Froyo? Some of the reviews say it is not working right.

Also, free or paid?

Thanks,

yeah it works just fine. best to use this app as a utility, not an auto app killer. i certainly use it to kill an app every once in a while. i bought the paid version just cause i like the monitoring feature so damn much.

Well I got it and set it to monitor everything it can monitor. Now I just have to wait and see what it shows the next time I have the ballooning Android System usage.

Report to follow.

Insight?

So my phone is super sluggish.

Battery usage shows Android OS at 46% with Display at 40%.

Note that this is different from before when it was Android System at the top.

System Panel shows Android Live Wallpapers at the top with 100% CPU clocking. Here is the other data from System Panel:
-- Android Live Wallpapers ("ALP") 12.2 M, CPU 19m21s
-- ASTRO (next highest) 8.6 M, CPU: 0s
-- CPU CLock @ 998 MHz and holding there steadily
-- Temp 91.9 F and rising
Top Apps (under History):
-- system 2.8 %, 13m, 33 s
-- system processes, 2.5%, 11m, 54s
-- ALP, 2.0%, 9m, 40s

Going to try killing ALP first, then power cycling.
