Froyo seems slower than 2.1 to me. What did I do wrong?

Just updated my Nexus one (running stock 2.1) to Froyo manually using these instructions: (sorry cant post links yet, but its the instructions from the 4th page of the Run checkin!! thread).

I'm now noticing that my system and especially my browser is running alot slower. Still usable, but definitely slower. I'm with AT&T, but I'm on my wifi, so I doubt that it is an issue with AT&T.

Anyone have any suggestions or comments. Thanks

I am noticing the same thing.

Also I am unable to open the phone app. It just times out.

I have the same issue. I've been using froyo for weeks now though. But latest install and its like my phone is in slow motion. Home screens, app drawer, are super slow. But when I go back to launcher pro, its normal again and fast as lightening. So I suspect we get a bad install, and a wipe before install would fix it.

It redownloads all your apps automatically for you, give it some time.

I think you are right. After having Froyo for about 12 hours it is now blazing fast! I also removed ProLauncher and Better keyboard.

Thanks for the input!

I agree with canonfaz. My N1 is running fast now. Did the install yesterday. Gave me a little scare there for awhile, but now it's great.

Questions:

1) Is there any truth to the statement that it re-downloads all your apps. [citation needed]?

2) If so, wouldn't a visit to the market solve this in 10 minutes flat on wifi?

3) If so, is this is why the roll out is so slow? Google wanting to avoid flooding the market?

4) Why would it be necessary to re download all existing apps?

yes all apps are automatically re-installed on android 2.2 should you ever wipe your phone. sure, if you upgrade and dont lose any data, then your apps will be in tact. but a new feature is that even when you wipe your device, of flash a completely new ROM from scratch, your apps will be installed based on your google account.

Just got the OTA update to FRF91. I'm not having any of the issues that I had previously everything is running fast still.

I'm seeing a lot of complaints from people with AT&T Nexus Ones, so my guess it that it's a radio issue. I have a T-Mobile Nexus One on AT&T and have no issues.
