been running froyo on my nook color for a bit and it never detects the sd card. I know the cards work, I can boot the nook with them. I can manually mount the sd device (/dev/block/mmcblk1p1) but vold never seems to detect it.

Any suggestions?

you mean, when you hook up the usb, it does not show as a drive with the (remaining) capacity in the drive?
if this is what you're saying, it is how it is.
I used to pop the card, put it in a reader to connect to my pc, then put it back in and boot.
alternately, you could use an app to transfer files over http or ftp

I quickly got tired of not having the device run in full speed and put Froyo on eMMC

nope.. this is the sdcard being seen by android.

nook populated with 4gb, 8gb, 32gb class 8 and 10 sd cards (i've got a pile).
put any in the sd slot and navigate to settings->sd card and phone storage. only shows onboard storage not the sd cards. If i open up terminal app i can mount the sdcard manually to /mnt/sdcard but sd card and phone storage doesnt see it.
