If you are lucky enough to live near a Fry's Electronics store and are still waiting to pull the trigger on a Galaxy Note.... I was in Fry's last Thursday and they had the Note, in-stock price of $199.99, plus they were giving away $25 gift cards for purchasing. Needless to say, I took the plunge. At this point, I absolutely LOVE my Note. Everything else, even the new HTC 4.8" phone looked small by comparison. I had a Galaxy Captivate and after spending an hour with the Note, even my 4" Captivate looked tiny. Then when I compared it to my wife's IPhone....I could hardly read it. Ha Ha

I know other places sell the note for $189-$199, but those are all mail order. I still prefer to make my major purchases in a fixed location in case problems occur.

I swear after a month with the note. I can't hardly type on an ipone or my old atrix2. I love how the notes big screen is friendly to my 41 year old eyes lol.

I agree with you on two points.

1. I prefer to buy big purchases in a brick and mortar store for much of the same reason you mentioned.

2. After using the Note for just a few days the size becomes the new norm, and every other device seems so small in comparison.

I wish you the best with your new Note. Enjoy! :)

Galaxy Note! Phone. Tablet. Planner. Notepad. eReader. The only device I need!

I love being able to go into a store and go hands-on with hardware. Went into Fry's last week and picked up a 16 GB USB stick that is low-profile for $9. It is half the size of my Cruzer physically, when opened, and a third halfway folded, which makes it less likely to get knocked out of my trucks' stereo, where I have a five-day jukebox loaded up, with 9the gig of space left to add on.

Feeling a live phone is great, because pics don't replace touch very well. Same goes for computers and other mobile devices. (Also got a better deal on a Plantronics Voyager Pro+ Bluetooth, better than Amazon prices).

Which ICS ROM are you on? I'm on Team Perfections Objection RC2 and love it so far. But if there is something else out there to try, I would be up for it.
