I bought this tablet (Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT P-3110) in June, and till yesyerday it always behave the same. Battery charge every other day or daily when used a lot. I don't have a lot of apps either. A few simple games (the kind of tap-and-kill) and some useful apps. I charge it being off and then I leave it on stand by till the next charge. No big difference in battery %. Yesterday I bought an USB adaptor and transfered a couple of files. I did it only once. It worked fine all day. I put it on stand by and went to sleep. It showed 80%. This morning it wouldn't turn on and when it did, it showed 0% battery!!!! What could have haappened??? I haven't installed anything new for days and I was thinking it is ok as it is. Please some ideas! I haven't finished paying for it yet!

Could be the battery is going bad. I'd keep a close watch on the % usage by various apps/services after you re-charge to see if anything unusual is showing up, and to see what's using most of the battery over time.

Do you think I should turn it off completely at night instead of leaving it on stand by?

It should be fine on standby. Just make sure it's charging OK and see what's using up the battery when it is on standby.

I kept an eye on it and even though I have the brighness set on a less than 20%, display is consuming 70%. I cannot afford Autobrighness because it is too dark and I wear glasses. Is that percentage normal?

Nope, try doing a battery synchronization. Drain to 0 and charge back to full 3 times

Sent from HTC Note Ultra Pro on T-Mobile

Do you think it could have been the USB adaptor that caused this drainage? It was too many hours afterwards anyway!:(

70% display battery usage would not necessarily be out of line if you used the screen a lot; when in use the display will almost always be your biggest battery drain. Remember that the 70% just means that, of whatever battery charge used (whether a little or a lot), the screen accounted for 70% of that usage. What was the total screen time resulting in that 70%? To give you an example of the impact screen usage can have, I charged my phone last night to 100% and have barely used it since - I have only 8 minutes screen time on but it accounts for 22% of my current battery usage (the vast majority was from Device idle, since I wasn't using the phone); the longer I leave the display on, the higher its % of battery usage climbs.

You could also try a couple of things I think have helped my battery - the Lux autobrightness app for screen brightness control (I think this is a lot better than the stock autobrightness setting and it's very customizable) and the Snapdragon Battery Guru app to control app syncing behavior.

After a battery synchronization, which 3rd time wasn't a full charge (I had to unplug at 97%) I got a 60% display usage. Is this more or less ok? Should I try another battery synchronization after a while? Couldn't install Snapdragon Battery Guru 'cause it wasn't compatible with my tablet but I got 'Zombie eats my battery' and till now I am still testing it. Battery lasted two days with a time on of 7hs.
Thanks to everyone who is trying to help me. This is my first android device and I am at a loss...:p

Sounds like you're doing pretty well at this point.

If I use a charger that is not big enough rating my Tab-2 will not charge. Even if I leave it over night! It will charge very little when charged with a USB port! The Tab-2 needs to charge with more current than a USB Port or Phone Charger can provide. Be sure you have the proper charger! Keep a spare charging cord because this can be the cause of a lot of charging problems. Since nothing else fits I keep a spare in the house, one in the car and one in my Go Kit!
Your charger should be rated for at least 2 Amps (2000 Ma) for use with the Tab or most other Tablet!
