I had a chat with Sprint online today and the rep told me off-contract price will be 449.99? this is cheaper than I thought which is great. Anyone else hear differently?

When I spoke to them today they told me $499.99. Its $499.99 - $200 instant rebate - $100 mail in rebate.

she wasnt right its actually going to be $549.99... @danuc6 i would deff save that email so hopefully they can honor it for you

Being a long time customer with Sprint I can tell you that any such information coming from a first tier CS usually turns out to be less than reliable. Is very strange to me that Sprint has been so secretive with information regarding this phone... within two weeks of the official launch date we find ourselves still guessing what the off-contract price will be.

Having said that, we can only hope.

Yup that's exactly what I am going to do. The person also gave me a 75 dollar credit cause my upgrade is not until August and I said I could buy it much cheaper on tmobile. I'm taking that email with me to the store.

Here is part of that conversation. I would post the whole thing but she asked for my number and password and stuff. I am going to actually going to bring in my tablet and just show them.

Ok, guess the manager of my local store and the supervisor of telesales were both wrong. Not to much longer now.

I guess they are.

Where does the upgrade discount come into play with the rest of Sprints lineup? If you are purchasing a phone without contract extension?

Epic - $499 (retail) - $350 instant rebate = $149
EVO - $449 (retail) - $250 instant rebate = $199
Shift - $399 (retail) - $250 instant rebate = $149

I have no idea where you got those instant rebate numbers. Here's what I see when I shop online for an upgrade to my eligible line:

And here's what I see when I don't use my upgrade credit:

On the official Sprint Nexus page it clearly states price is $399 (two year contract price) ~ that would mean to me the $150 credit for a two-year renewal is already built-in here.

This leads me to believe the full retail price will be $549 ($399 + $150 renewal discount).

It would seem that way to me too. But others don't seem to be logical thinkers. :p

I'm not going to do a screen shot of each phone but this is wjhat I was looking at:

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just going off what I was told and what I seen on the site.

The difference is that I was doing an upgrade to an existing line, and you are looking at plans for new lines of service.

Ok I see what you are saying.

I guess if this phone is priced at the $549 price point I won't be getting it. I was iffy at $499 with the Galaxy 2 hopefully coming out in the next couple months. I'd rather pay the premium for that device.
