My 11 year old mac book is on its last legs. Its been a good run but I want to see if the Note can replace it.
Model GT-8013 (pre 2014 i think)
Running Android 4.3

Searching revealed threads 2+ years old talking about products no longer available.

I think want a full size keyboard with track pad.
Right now I am leaning on:

IOGEAR Multi-Link Bluetooth Keyboard with Touchpad GKM611B

OR

Aerb® Ultrathin Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard + Mouse Touchpad IBT02

Please comment if you have used a specific keyboard with your samsung tablet. I don't have a smart TV and don't care about how it interfaces with that.

Is there an App that makes the on screen keyboard go away? Or is it specific to the keyboard?

Thanks!!!!

I prefer the old buckling spring keyboard (the one IBM originally came out with for the PC) - it has a solid feel. (It also clacks like crazy as you type.) Unicomp Keyboards produces them now. You can get a Mac configuration for $94 - configure a custom keyboard and select US-Mac as the language. (Used original keyboards go for $200.) Trackpads are cheap to stick on to the side of the keyboard.

If you're a real typist, you'll love the difference between the buckling spring and the marshmallows even the best keyboards feel like these days.
