Android Central Question

Hi all, I had a search and could not find a similar problem. I have just bought a new Huawei P20 pro. Seemed a really great phone until I tried to make a phone call in my car.

I have successfully paired the phone with the car and can indeed play music happily over the blue tooth connection. I am even seeing the signal bars on the screen in my car (2016 BMW 5 Series) so i am definitely connected. When i try to answer a call or indeed make a call the phone audio will not come out through the car as all my other phones have.

Whilst a call is in progress, there is a bluetooth symbol that you can press and some options appear in order that you can select where the audio is directed. The options are 'Speaker', 'Phone' and 'BMW'. BMW is the one selected.

I have tried everything and Huawei support are unable to help. My conclusion was therefore that there must be a problem with the car that I have. Just tried in a friends car and my wife's car and exactly the same problem.

I can only conclude that this therefore is a major issue with the phone/Software version.

Can anyone else shed any light on this issue? Its fairly major for me if i can't make calls in the car!!

Thanks in advance

Welcome to Android Central! On the phone, go to Settings>Bluetooth and tap the gear icon next to the car listing. Is Phone Audio turned on?
