I picked up a discounted N6 about 3 months ago from Amazon. I cannot stress how in love i am with this phone. It hits all of my check marks and then some. But the Google camera app is a steamy pile atop my beloved phone.
The camera it's takes great pics, especially in low light, when the app works and saves my photos. When I double tap the power button or swipe the camera icon on my lock screen the lag is so severe that by the time the shutter button responds to my touch the subject has changed or moved, killing the shot. The few times I do snap a good shot, there's about a 50% the image itself won't even save to the device.
I'll never understand why this expensive, powerful behemoth can run graphic intensive apps and videos without breaking a sweat but the lightweight and very basic camera app brings it to its proverbial knees.
I've uninstalled updates, cleared the cache, wiped the phone, and still it hasn't improved. I searched the app store and most 3rd party camera apps either have ads or look like they were last updated in the honeycomb era.
Any advice would be appreciated. I'm desperate to have a functioning camera.
