G2x Accessories

I've had my G2x since it's launch. I ordered a dock and car mount for the phone and discovered that the dock is a barebones (no intelligence unlike my old GS4G that new when it was docked) and the car mount is a non charging dock.

My question is...why is there no accessory love for the G2x??? On release my GS4G had a ton of accessories for it. Hell even OTTERBOX is not releasing a case for the G2x! Anyone know any reasons why?

It's brand new and the accessory companies are probably waiting to see how popular the phone is.

There are plenty of cases and screen protectors available. I don't use car docks so I'm not sure about those.

I'm using the LG car dock. I have to start car mode manually, but it holds the phone just fine.

Yeah me too. My big gripe is really with the dock. Why can't my dock be intelligent and know when to go into docking mode? Again, I love this phone. Just wish we had a few more advanced accessories.

It does look like it's got magnets in the dock itself, but I don't know if that is supposed to switch the phone to car mode like it did in the OG droid.

If it has magnets it should. My g2x will switch to car mode if I put it on top of one of my nook color cases that has a magnetic latch on the front

Tasker allows you to set a car mode profile that opens the app or plays audio, etc. when charging or when headset is plugged in. Might help to build in user intelligence if the phone has none lol.
