G4 not reconnecting to data after loss

Twice since I've had my Sprint G4 I've been camping where there is no data. Each time I get a notice saying unable to connect. The problem is when I come back to town it is still not connecting to data. I tried toggling data off then on, no change. I ended up having to restart the phone to get the data connection. Is there a setting I'm missing or is this a random bug?

Depending on the carrier and the signal strength, it could be just a matter of your expecting it to connect faster than it will. But the next time it happens, don't restart it, bring it into your carrier not connected to data. It may be a known problem for them, or they may be ble to figure out why it's happening.
