Hi guys,

Sorry I am new to the forum. I'm thinking of purchasing the G4 in the coming weeks, just wondering since the release of the new Samsung Note 4, is there possibility that they will cut the price on the G4 because of that? I wasn't following the price trend for the G3 so I don't know when they slashed the price after it was released.

Right now for a 2-year agreement (I'm in the US) I'm looking at $199....just wondering if it's possible it'll go down a little bit after Note 5 becomes available?

I don't know which provider you have but let me tell you what I did. Verizon has this deal where you get 300 dollar credit for bringing in a smartphone from another carrier. I bought a Tmobile prepaid phone and minutes (cost me 28 bucks after my giftcards), went and opened a line with Verizon and purchased the G4. There was a coupon code ($50) to drop it to 499. Also, there is a 100 dollar mail in rebate form LG when you purchase the G4 from Verizon. So, 549 -50 coupon code - 300 dollar port in/smartphone trade in - 100 mail in rebate which is $100 dollars for this phone, no contract. I just have to let the line ride out for 2-3 months to get my credit which is 15 bucks a month to keep the line. Overall, $145 dollars for a G4 NO contract is worth it to me :)

Edit: I guess you can factor in the cost of the tmobile phone lol. Also, I already have a Verizon account so that is why it is only an extra 15 bucks a month to keep that line open for me. YMMV.

Thanks for the reply...hhmm that's an interesting option that I might look into. I do have an old iPhone 4 which I can probably turn in for that matter. Do they give you 300 for any phone you turn in regardless of models, type and condition?
