My guess on the rear speakers - it will be better than the G3's (which isn't bad). I heard Nexus 6 speaker - better sound than G3 speakers and I suspect that the G4 will match the Nexus. But pure speculation.
How the sound from the 3.5mm jack (or BT) is the critical thing to me.
I have a few 4 pole IEM's that are sensitive with the G3. "OK Google" comes up when the jack is moved slightly. I agree not much to complain about with the G3 other than that.

On my note 4, I didn't notice much difference in battery life between Bluetooth, plugged in headset, and external speaker when listening to gpm.Not if you want your battery to last you through the day.

Interesting. I stream gpm at highest setting over 4GLTE with no caching and it runs about 2-3% an hour regardless of method on my note 4.Well, Bluetooth on my G3 drains considerably more than wired that's for sure! Lose anywhere between 8% to 10% in my hour and 15 min commute. Wired I lose 1% to 3% by comparison.
