Any info on the sound processor used? Can we expect it to be better in any way than the G3 (which I've found to be very good). I use decent IEM's and headphones, mostly wired, not much BT.

+1 on this post.

I would like to know about this and how it sounds with it's back firing speakers.

I just need the speaker to be loud and clear enough for speaker phone. Once a root method is available I'll install Viper4Android to improve/tweak music sound qualify.

My guess on the rear speakers - it will be better than the G3's (which isn't bad). I heard Nexus 6 speaker - better sound than G3 speakers and I suspect that the G4 will match the Nexus. But pure speculation.

How the sound from the 3.5mm jack (or BT) is the critical thing to me.

I'm just hoping that they use better 3.5mm audio jacks compared to my G3. The ONLY thing that annoys me about it (G3)!

I have a few 4 pole IEM's that are sensitive with the G3. "OK Google" comes up when the jack is moved slightly. I agree not much to complain about with the G3 other than that.

Yup! Losing one side isn't as bad as 'Ok Google' popping up thats for sure, lol!!

If I didn't listen to music a lot with my phone, I wouldn't really care much about it. Yes, we could use BT headsets (which I do have and use for gym use btw) but it drains battery life considerably faster than wired headsets. If I used BT headsets throughout my day, I would have to charge twice a day.

As long as it has aptX I'm happy. I use a pair of the brilliant Sony SBH80 BT headphones and with aptX phones they sound amazing.

I'm curious to learn more about the audio quality through the headphone jack, what sort of DAC this will carry, etc. Given so many people use their phone as a primary music source, it's amazing how little time is given to the subject in reviews.

Not if you want your battery to last you through the day.

On my note 4, I didn't notice much difference in battery life between Bluetooth, plugged in headset, and external speaker when listening to gpm.

Well, Bluetooth on my G3 drains considerably more than wired that's for sure! Lose anywhere between 8% to 10% in my hour and 15 min commute. Wired I lose 1% to 3% by comparison.

Interesting. I stream gpm at highest setting over 4GLTE with no caching and it runs about 2-3% an hour regardless of method on my note 4.

Can anyone recommend really good Bluetooth in-ear (earbud) headphones? All the ones I see on Amazon get decent but not great ratings, and all of those I've tried keep falling out of my ears.
