Have had the phone for 5 hours now and am mostly pleased with it. However, the phone loses network connection every 30-60 seconds, radio networks go offline and it does a search again, then the signal comes back. I have full bars in the house as I have the LTE CellSpot. Also, I haven't seen the phone catching LTE when it does manage to stay online. It has been on HSPA (4G) briefly, whereas all the other phones in my house show a full strength LTE connection.

I'm getting extremely frustrated and I'm glad it's the weekend when I bought this phone where I might not miss important calls. The battery is also taking a hit because of the constant tower searching every few seconds. Any one else seeing this issue (I'm on T-Mobile)? I can't quite wrap my head around to it, I definitely think it doesn't have anything to do with software.

Is this only happening in your house while connected to the LTE CellSpot?

Yes, that seems to be the case. It works properly and uses Wifi calling when I unplug the CellSpot. Network seems to latch properly outside. Unfortunately I need to leave the CellSpot since there are other members in my family using unlocked and non-Branded devices.

Toggling Wi-Fi Calling On/Off doesn't seem to help either. Went in to return the phone, the T-Mobile reps thought it was the SIM card (lol)

It's the sim card, that's T-Mobile's answer for every issue! Lol

Welcome to Android Central!

Could the Cellspot need to be updated?

Have you gone into settings to see what your cellular service is set to?

Seems this has been narrowed down already but thought I would add that it doesn't seem to be an issue on either of our G5's on an ATT microcell unit.

I have o2 4g lte and the connection seems very solid. Getting 50mbps download as well (which is as it should be and the same as my previous phone) Can't fault the phone for that.

I've tried every single setting there is under cellular and it still goes offline every 30 seconds ONLY while connected to the T-Mobile 4G LTE CellSpot. Guessing this is a carrier update setting that needs to be sent out to the T-Mobile version of the G5.

Similar issue here, radio seems to be eating my battery at work due to low signal. How do you turn of wifi calling exactly on this device?
