I bought yesterray a Hama wired usb gamepad. The game pad was advertised as windows compatible, not Android. But thought to give it a try. I connected to G5 through a usb c type multiadapter. On home screen i was able to use the d-pad and move around and select something with buttons xyz. But there was not back button compatibility. Then i tried playing asphalt 8 and asphalt extreme. Disappointment....nothing worked except the sterring of the tyres left and right. No acceleration, nitro or anything else. So no way to play....i also tried pac man which i was able to play cause only the dpad was working...
Then i switched to a Sony PS4 bluetooth controller. The connection was done without any issues. But nothing was working at all...not even in the home screen navigation.....i searched on google and looks like G5 has issues with gamepads while other android devices do not have. Especially with the Sony PS4 controller it should work out of the box BUT it is not....and there are many user reports saying that their G5 is not Compatible with Sony PS4 controller.
Has anyone tried any wired/bluetooth gamepad that it works out of the box without any issues? And without the need of a root device?
Thank you
