G5 Plus won't power on

My brother switched from Moto G5 Plus to ask improve last month. He recently tried turning on his old phone to check one of his apps, but the phone will not turn on at all.

I've found articles mentioning performing a soft reset with volume up plus power and articles that say volume down plus power. Neither option works to turn on the phone.

We have been charging the phone, and a white LED blinks while it is plugged into the charger, but we can't get it to do anything else.

The phone was working at the time that my brother got a new phone. Does anyone have any other suggestions we can try.

Have you already tried leaving the phone charging for a few hours?

I picked it up from my brother this morning where I believe he had it charging overnight. I've had it charging at my house for at least an hour so far with no change yet.

Let it charge undisturbed for at least 6 hours. The press and hold Power for about 30 seconds and see if anything happens.
