Hi

After many awful roms, i stopped messing with my S5 about a year and a half ago because nothing was stable like Kitkat Stayed at stock rooted KK since.

Now im starting to experience some issues, like compatibility and other stuff.

I've been out of the Rom/root game for a while.
  • Can i simply flash a stock rooted 5.1.1 over my 4.4 using twrp? Without bootloaders/modems etc?
  • Is there such a thing as an AOSP 5.1 for G900t yet? (my favorite was task650 Aokp)
  • Isnt flashing 5.1 over 4.4 like some huge processes of updating each rom in between, and all tedious?

As ive moved into my adult life, phone stability is becoming more important, thats why ive stayed stock, but i have to upgrade soon/

Any suggestions? .

from what i know you can go to sammobile.com download your selected firmware and flash it on your phone through odin

If you flash the stock Samsung firmware for your T-Mobile (USA) model, G900T, you will lose root and I am uncertain whether chainfire has updated his CF-Auto-Root kernel for Android 5.1.1, yet. Having said that, you do not have to upgrade through Android 5.0 to get to 5.1.1. You can just flash 5.1.1. This comes with the new bootloader and modem.

As you like AOSP ROMs, you could try flashing the the almost stock Nexus ROM for Marshmallow, Android 6.0.1, as mentioned, here. This can be done from your existing, rooted, firmware.

EDIT CF-Auto-Root has been updated for Android 5.1.1. See, here.
