Galaxy A3 storage problem

The 16gb sd card is full. I have bought a 64gb sd card and fitted and formatted it. Message says card full, so how do I bring the empty sd card into use

Everything that was set to save to the card is still set to save to the card.

If you want what was on the old card to be on the new card, you'll have to copy it from the old card to the new one.
