When e.g. a banking app asks for the fingerprint, it accepts it without failure. In the dark, in the sun... All good. As well if I put the wrong finger, it doesn't let me pass.
The fingerprint control of the main phone lock screen, well that one is pathetic...
- at home it generally works OK-ish (maybe 90 percent of the time) but as soon as I'm outside (even if completely static) it fails miserably.
- somehow if it fails 3 times, I already know it's going to fail the 4th and the 5th and then I have to wait 30 seconds or enter the PIN.
But again - when other apps ask for the same fingerprint, it works acceptably fine. Indoors and outdoors, sunny or dark.
It's frustration I have since a year when I got this phone.
It got a bit better when I registered three different fingerprints... With the same finger. Still it kept quite an unacceptably high fail rate...
... But then one day I realize with apps there is never a problem.
So, contrary to popular belief, this is even more a software problem than hardware as in, rushed, non-perfected technology. At least on my phone!
So I'd like to know
- how does it work for you?
- any suggestions to see if I fix this?
Thanks thanks
