Phone is 4 months old. Couple of days ago I noticed that my photos stopped saving directly to my SD card. Tried moving or copying them onto the SD card and got an error saying the file already exists (I know these few photos aren’t on the SD card). Changed my default setting on my camera back to SD card storage. Took a picture and get an error about it not being able to save on the SD card and that it saved to phone memory.

Last night, phone starts freaking out – tried to text a picture and phone froze each time (to the point I had to take out battery). Last few pictures taken not saved when I restarted the phone and it was having trouble bringing my SD card pictures up in the gallery.

Tried taking both battery and SD card out (after unmounting) and restarting. Still giving me issues.

Lastly, charged last night and was at a full charge this morning at 7 am. By 2 pm today the battery was completely drained with no apps in process and only a few phone calls made (my battery usually lasts around 40-48 hours).

Can anybody help me figure out which gremlin got into my phone and how to get the little bugger out?!!?!?!?!

1) The battery is probably bad. (You'd have to look at the battery stats in Settings (press the graph to get the second page) to see what's eating all the power, but if it's normal (Android, screen, etc.) it's probably a bad battery.

2) Try the phone with the SD card removed, not just unmounted. If everything works better, the card is bad. (Amazon has the SanDisk 64GB U1 on sale today for $25 if you're interested in replacing yours. I just couldn't resist ordering one.)

Took the SD card out last night and the battery still looks good as of right now. Able to take pictures and message them without a problem (without the SD card in). Looks like a corrupted SD and I'm off to Walmart to buy a new one. Hoping I can still get my pics off the old one...

Thanks!

i beg to differ on the SD card issue. I have 4 SD cards ranging from 8gb to 64g (which by the way the ace does not take the 64) and NONE of them will save pics to the sd card at all. any ideas on what i might be missing?
