Galaxy Gear and the Nexus 5?

Anyone able to pair the Gear with a phone other than a Samsung???

Not to my knoledge, I'd be curious to see how that would be possible... My understanding is the Galaxy Gear only works with Samsung Galaxy x. phones.
Note 2 and 3
S 3 and s4 to name a few. maybe we will see universal ones in time like bluetooth headsets?

I read somewhere that you can root both devices and it would work, but it seems way to complicated for me. I'll copy and paste the info here. Maybe someone on this forum can do it easily.

I have both the nexus 5 and the note 3 and I have not been able to pair the gear with the nexus 5. I spoke with a Samsung rep and was told that it would work with the 4.3 and higher software but I have had no luck.

It will officially work with any SAMSUNG device running 4.3 or higher. You can root the Gear and change the code so that it works with the Nexus 5. It seems to be a lot of work and doesn't seem to work 100% well. The instructions are over on XDA
