Galaxy Grand Prime: How Do I Put More Things on my SD card?

A

AC Question

For several months I haven't been able to install any more apps because my system memory is almost full. Before, often times I was unable to view my gallery, and was greeted with the message "Warning There is not enough space in your device memory. Delete some files." Now, I always receive this message and occasionally receive one telling me I cant receive texts anymore on account of limited storage. I've moved every single one of my photos and videos to my SD card and clicked "move to SD card" for every app that allows it. However, doing so only seems to move a fraction of the app's data to my card. For example, going into storage settings, I tapped the option to move Firefox to my SD card. The storage data now says as follows:
Total: 196 MB
Application: 19.64 MB
SD card app: 40.81 MB
Data: 135 MB
SD card data: 96 KB
Cache: 4KB

Because there's a separate section for app and data for the SD card, I'm assuming that means even though the option to move says "Move to Device Storage" that part of the app is on my card, and part is on my system, and more of it is on my system? This is really irritating.
I don't get why I cant just move apps wholly to my SD card, or why I can't download an app directly to it rather than having to move (part of) the app after either. If I could do either of these, my problems would be solved.

Here are my general storage specs if anyone needs it

Storage:
Available space: 76.96 MB
System Memory (things I cant delete): 3.4 GB
Used space: 3.5 GB
Cached data: 18.61 MB
Miscellaneous files: 1 GB

Welcome to the forum. Not sure how to answer this as I'm not sure there is a question. You can't move entire apps to the SD card and you can't install directly to them as that is how phones are designed. That is the design of the system, which you seem to already know. Phones have finite storage. If you can't live with the combination you have I would suggest getting rid of stuff or getting a phone with more storage. No way to beat the limits of the phone. You can delete cached data btw, but it will come back.
