So i just updated my Motorola Xoom to 4.0.4 and i noticed the camera was much better. Being that the Xoom is pretty much the Nexus of tablets, Has anyone seen an improvement in the camera since 4.0.4? The reason i ask is that i will be getting one soon and was just wondering. thanks in advance

Better how?

Does it focus/refocus quicker?
Does it have better PQ?
Does it have better post processing?

Give us details please!

The cams UI is kinda redone. It does feel real quick. Also still images are way clear with a steady hand.

Can't wait till they fix the pixelation/noise in dark shots. I can't take a night image of a city skyline. My 2mp canon takes stellar night shots.

it all has to do with the lense...larger lenses let in more light, making night pics show more detail...there is only so much you can squeeze out of such a little sensor....MP has NOTHING to do with picture quality....just size.

i personally see a slight improvement but it may just be placebo effect or something. plus i haven't taken an outdoors pics since i flashed 4.0.4

Easy way to find out: take the same shot at the same time with a GSM on 4.0.4 and a CDMA on 4.0.2 or .3 and then vice versa if you can.

Camera ZOOM FX is quite good, too. I get great results with that app as the primary camera driver.

Then my old lg flip phone must have had the best lens ever, cause it's night shots are fine albeit lower quality.

OK, i am starting to get on this bandwagon. there is an improvement in quality IMO. here are some shots i took on 4.0.4 dont have any of the same pics on 4.0.2/3 but maybe i can take some today at work so we can get a comparison.
sorry for all the pics....but more will come ;)

Honestly these pics look great in don't know why anyone would say that the gnex's camera is subject par.

I dont think the nexus' camera is sub par... but the zero lag (?) Creates havok when not using flash. When using flash, its a totally different story... without flash i have to have the steadiest of steady hands.. the slightest hand movement will create a blurry image.... forget about trying to capture a picture on the fly... the picture is pure crap.

On the other hand.... using flash is a different story.. pictures comes out crisp. No blurriness what so ever.... most likely is bc of the camera lagging slightly...like most of my pictures... whether it is with my dlsr.. i prefer not to use flash.. the nexus camera just doesnt cut it.... without using flash at least

Im hoping they update the software (or at least add the option) to get rid of the zero lag... I would prefer a 1/4 second or more delay if it helped reduce the blurriness...

But then again... using flash in daylight without any reflective images will yield excellent pictures.

Nah, barely ever use flash. I just touch the screen to focus first.

I'll second this. Always had focusing issues with the stock setup. Camera zoom seems to take clearer pics the first time, where most of the time I would have to take 2-3 to get a good one with the stock cam.
