Galaxy Note 3 - do you have to turn off note 3 to reset battery stats

Do you have to turn off note 3 to reset battery stats ,I have fully charged it and still no reset so restarted the phone and it reset the stats.Is there a better way..Thanks

probably... on my S4 (waiting to upgrade to Note 3 today) whenever I get a full charge the stats are the same..... so then I unplug it and then reset the phone, and the stats are reset
