I'm pretty familiar with both phones and would like to find out what others would recommend.

I'm leaning towards the Note 7 as long as the Edge Feeds look good.

Appreciate any feedback.

Thank you !

Hey there!

Deciding between the S7 edge and Note7 depends on these variables.
  • Do you use the S Pen frequently?
  • Does the extra 0.2" of screen space matter?
  • Are you intrigued by the new features of the Note7?
  • Is budget an issue?
  • Do you need that extra 100mAh capacity on the S7e?

I would recommend the Note7 if you want a slightly larger display, use the S Pen frequently and are intrigued by the new features, as long as you can afford one. However, if you don't use the S Pen frequently, don't care for the new features but still want a reasonably large display, I'd recommend the S7 edge instead.

I really like the idea of extra security with the Iris scanner. The S Pen is something I haven't used before but could see using to take quick notes or reminders. I really like the ability to create GIFS. Plus it's 64gb. The big thing for me is I want to see the feeds on the side panel and how big they are.

If you can't decide, consider taking a trip down to a Best Buy or your local carrier store to give both phones a look. It would really help in deciding which one to get.

Honestly between the 2, I don't know any advantage of the S7E, other than price - if buying the phone outright. (I seriously doubt the 100 Mah battery difference will be noticeable between the 2).

Even if you don't use the S-Pen, you get 64gb of base storage, new HDR screen, and yes, the iris scanner and cool new S-Pen stuff (and cool gifts like a Gear fit 2 or 256gb sd card)

To me I can't see a good reason to go with the S7E at this point in time, unless it is a price issue for buying outright.

The storage space is what won me over. Of it weren't for that I'd go with the edge

The main reason I don't purchase S7 is that it doesn't support Type C. Type C is the coolest thing for a phone. Personal opinion.

Type C
Newer software
Iris scanner
Gorilla glass 5
S Pen
64 GB
Better Ergonomics with bigger screen
Killer colors

Finally, just get the new one. Newer is better is bang on here !!

What would be the advantages of an iris scanner over the fingerprint reader? Something useful for the average user.

I said it the other day and i stand by it,

The note7 doesn't feel to me like an s7 edge with an s pen, it feels like a note with an edge screen. The note stuff is there, it feels like a note when you hold it, but that's my opinion lol.

The s7 edge is an awesome phone, but i cant wait to get the note7 and pass the s7 edge down..

It also gets 9000 more points than the S7 on Antutu benchmarks. It supports the vulken API which apparently the s7 edge does not. Also has a chip for processing HDR video. Samsung has a partnership with amazon for streaming HDR video. Samsung browser supports extensions. And everything else in post #8
I know there's something else i'm forgetting.

For someone like me going to a carrier and buying on contract (Rogers in Canada) Note 7 is $159 more but they are giving 64GB SD card and either the Gear Fit 2 or a Bluetooth speaker (both with CDN MSRP if $249) with pre order so my guy math says Note 7 is cheaper.

display size. I love my s7 edge but spen and display size is why I pre ordered blue coral note 7.
