Galaxy note 8. Signal goes in and out when hooked up via hdmi to tv

Watched a YouTube video on how to hook up my phone to tv so I wouldn't have to worry about lag. Bought the recommended 3rd party adapter (usky multiport). When it's on the screen periodically flashes blue. I've tried two hdmi cords and get the same results. One has been used with my ps4 with no problems at all. Is there a setting issue?

Nope, it sounds more like a device issue. Have you tried that adapter with a computer with USB-C, or another Note? If the device has an regional setting, you might want to check it's not set up for European TVs.

That is why I use the Samsung adapter. worked with the Note 7 and works with my note 8.

Could you give out the information so the OP knows what to try if the adapter they have is not working properly and needs a suitable replacement?

I get why people go to 3rd party adapters...they're cheaper and most of the time they work OK... but this doesn't seem to be the case for the OP
