galaxy s dies for no reasons

Ive had my samsung galaxy s for about 6 months now. For some strange reason, my phone could be 90, 80,70% etc and once i go on an application like Twitter or Instagram or sometimes even my music player, my phone will turn off. I turn my phone back on and its mysteriously down to anything under 14%, what is the cause of this?

Mine was acting the same way a few weeks ago. Turns out my battery was going south (it was actually swolen in the middle). I replaced the battery with one I bought through Amazon for about $9 and it's been fine ever since.

I have the same issue... especially with twitter... I thought that it was a software issue not a battery issue...
