Hi, welcome!I'm having this same problem in June 2020, and I love how the most recent comment just says to go into the settings and toggle the delivery reports setting to "off"..... That option is just not there or I wouldn't be here after stumping 3 Samsung "experts". Please see the attached screen shot for reference. That is the final menu where the "delivery reports" option should appear and it just doesn't. Please help, because I'm currently receiving "read receipts" from one of my contacts that I would really like to turn off!

Ok perfect , can we try something out real quick , you have a theme on your phone ?I have the galaxy s10e unlocked version on Straight talk wireless. I have contacted both Samsung and Straight talk and they both claim it is the responsibility of the other...
Ok good , that's what I wanted to know.yes I do have a theme and before you ask, I already tried reverting to the samsung default, restarting the phone and seeing if the setting was there and it didn't work.
Customer service won't be able help much on this .The girl I talked to at Straight Talk (English was not the first language for sure!) had absolutely no clue what I was even talking about. And seemed to think that I should be calling Samsung back. So my next question to you would be why am I receiving "read receipts" if this is not even an option in my phone. I only get them from one contact (my boyfriend), and I don't receive them for every message. He is using a Samsung Galaxy S7 also on Straight Talk....
Ok , let me know how that works outI have now turned the "general notification" toggle to off, but like I said, I don't receive this notification for every message I send him. The times I can remember getting this "read" notification the most is when all I sent him was an emoji. I'll try sending him one now and see what happens, but he is currently at work and may not be able to even look at his phone right away, so this thread will have to pause... I'll let you know what happens.
It shouldn't, as you see in the screenshot New Message is still toggle onIs turning off general notifications going to interrupt messages from 6 digit senders? That's how my daughter's school sends communication to parents and I don't want to lose that...
