Galaxy s10 & s21 Whatsapp lost photos/videos

I recently got a new phone and transferred all my whatsapp chats to the new phone. Not sure how it happened but I accidentally backed up my whatsapp on my new phone (only has chats, no images/videos) and then when I went to get the whatsapp images/videos off my old phone it used the new phone's backup on my old phone and all my whatsapp photos & videos are gone. Is there anyway I can get them back? Had a look through some recovery apps but couldn't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
