Will the JB update for the Epic 4GT work on a regular Galaxy S2?
Is it the same update?

No.. Never flash an update that isn't specifically designed for your EXACT model of phone. The software or " OS " itself may work but there is more important things like the radio's and other things that can brick that device in a heartbeat if its not designed for your model/carrier of phone.

Is the SG2 a "SPRINT" phone? If it isn't then no....make sure the model number is the same as SPRINT phone....model number should be SPH-D710

Both phones are from Sprint and both are model number SPH-D710

Keep in mind that Samsung released a lot of different variations of the Galaxy II to a myriad of carriers worldwide. The Epic 4g Touch happens to be the one on the Sprint Network.

If your carrier is Sprint then I see no reason why you cannot upgrade to Jelly Bean.

Checked over at XDA as well. being both phones are Sprint and the same model the update will work on either phone
