Galaxy S2 screen problem

My s2 has a problem where the screen comes on by itself after you've locked it. I've tried uninstalling apps that might be triggering it, but to no avail. Also done a factory reset but no joy. The other thing is the handset can't be switched off. It just keeps restarting until the battery drains. Has anyone heard of this?

Thanks for the advice, and yes, it's the phone. I tried the cache wipe, but it's still doing it. Will monitor it for a week, or so. Maybe it is the power button, although the action on it seems ok. Thanks again.

As a workaround for powering off, you can always remove the battery. Does it restart on its own after you reinsert the battery?

Another way to force a shutdown is to press and hold Power and Vol Down for about 15-20 seconds.

I didn't know about the power/vol down method. I'll try that from now on instead of removing the battery.
Thanks
